Visited on New Year’s Eve and it was surprisingly not crowded. Staff were efficient and nice atmosphere overall.
We ordered a few dishes and they tasted pretty good. The Brussel Sprouts were amazing, nicely caramelised on the outside and it didn’t taste bitter at all. Ordered their Raclette Cheese and had to order an extra side of sourdough to go with it, so it’s pretty pricey altogether. The iron plate steak was pretty good, but doesn’t come with any sauce. The food were generally quite delicious and yummy, but the price is pretty high. Might also wanna consider giving free cake for birthday celebration, a small gesture will entice the customers more. This is something that many restaurants are doing too.
Food is fantastic. Sourdough is so light and fluffy. I had three bowls of Brussels sprouts. It’s that good. Steak cuts are all beautiful but can do with more char. I will ask for that next time.
Had a dinner there 2 weeks back for my friend’s birthday. We booked the counter bar seats so we could watch the chefs in action as they had a open kitchen concept. Unfortunately our seats was not directly in front of the grill station but we could still see it from the side. Seats are comfortable and the ambience was pretty chill.
Food was great and service made it even better. The lady who served us was very friendly and knowledgeable. She introduced the menu to us and gave us some recommendations according to our preferences. The Brussels sprout that was recommended to us was really nice which was not bitter at all to my surprise. Steaks are perfectly cooked. However, we did not know that sauces were not provided with the steaks and it needs to be bought on the side. We would probably try them the next time we visit.
Overall, this is a nice place to visit. Prices weren’t that pricey where most dishes fall within the acceptable range.
Had the 2 pax set at $198++ which came with starter of toasted sourdough bread with gooey raclette cheese, 2sets of steak, 2 sides and 1 dessert. Steak was cooked nicely and went well with the garlic and salt. Pomme puree was fluffy and creamy. Wines are a little pricey, but overall experience was enjoyable.
Table seats are reserved for larger groups, while those in pairs are seated at the counter where we can watch the crew preparing food.
The food was good and enjoyable.
Beef were soft and juicy. The sourdough bread was a plus point, it was different from everywhere else, definitely recommend to get one to try. Truffle fries was crispy even after it turns cold. Cheesecake was alright, the passion fruit sauce can be a little overpowering. However, on the other hand, the tiramisu was soft and the taste was well balanced.
Brought along my wife to try their steaks. We ordered a Set Menu for 2. Steaks are perfectly cooked as requested for medium rare. Sides dishes are also delicious.
We sat at the bar counter seats and saw how the chefs get our food ready to serve in such organized and efficient manner is a great experience.
Overall the dinning experience was great and will visit this restaurant next time.
Good food and friendly service. We had the Restaurant Week lunch set, which comprises of a 3 course set. The apetitiser, which was an option of 2 salads, was tasty and refreshing. Both were salads were really tasty.
For the main course, we had Pork Rib cap and the wagyu. Both mains were delicious, but were felt that the Pork Rib cap was more outstanding, as it was juicy, tender, and very flavourful, with perfect doness
For dessert, we had both the Tiramisu and Strawberry oatmeal crumble. Both were delicious and substantial in portion size.
The only gripe we have is the space, limited indoor seating, and so slightly warm when seated outside, but there were fans to keep the patrons cool. So do come prepared and you should be fine.
First visit to FBG at Serene Centre (Near Botanic Gardens) and it definitely did not disappoint!
Start off with a sourdough bread and burrata. The sourdough bread is a must try as it was super crispy and tasty. The burrata was really good as well!
For the mains, we ordered a Blood Wagyu - Denver, a Wagyu steak rice bowl and the broccolini. The Wagyu steaks were amazing. They were very tender and juicy. It had a beautiful char on the meat as well which gave that distinct grilled meat flavour. Paired with the salsa verde, it was a stunner. I was pleasantly surprised by the Brussels Sprouts in the rice bowl as well. It’s a dish I’ve not tried before so I was a little cautious at first. But the flavours were amazing and won me over.
We ended the meal with a delicious cheesecake. Overall, an amazing experience FBG and would definitely come back again.
